At the time, I didn't know about the ARCS model but it took some of those same principles to motivate me to learn more about computers. Because I was motivated, I am very savvy with using a computer and often times asked at school to help others. Good post and I like that it was relevant to my experience with using a computer.Olu's Blog Pagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07869022341016997628noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1780198847734538565.post-21638230205747510042012-08-09T22:52:49.470-05:002012-08-09T22:52:49.470-05:00Thank you, Lyle. Both as the learner and facilitator. Even in this program I can feel my motivation level from time to time. So I have to ARCS myself.
The smart desktop that is explained in the video looks interesting. It didn't speak much about the everyday uses, like word documents, email, and spreadsheet.

Nice post. However, during our lunch hour, I decided to show them this video ( http://jumpthecurve.net/health-care/a-window-into-the-future/) so that they can begin to understand where we are going technologically and why it is important to begin to think about education and technology differently.
Your strategy to utilize video clips and other multimedia resources is a great way to get students engaged.
Great post!
Cynthiahelloworldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04932188877782563153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1780198847734538565.post-22909006100806597382012-07-28T09:22:36.414-05:002012-07-28T09:22:36.414-05:00"the view of knowledge as composed of connect..."the view of knowledge as composed of connections and networked entities" (Stephen Downes as quoted in Seimens, 2008, p. 10). Your comment makes a lot of sense so I went back to double check my reference. It seems like it boils down to whether knowledge exists in and of itself or if knowledge is created. I'm not sure if I know the answer to that. If might be both. what do you think?Lylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04112899519956690334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1780198847734538565.post-16715821900864209422012-07-27T13:17:15.249-05:002012-07-27T13:17:15.249-05:00Hello Lyle,
